Recent Duff Radio Collaboration Results in Two New Singles - "Nun' to Say" and "Feel My Pain"

In mid-April, I traveled to Kansas City to record new music for the Duff Radio brand. We booked four hours at Soundxscape Studios, newly opened by Kansas City artist and longtime Duff Radio collaborator OkCasheyy. For this session, I invited 11 local Kansas City artists to record, including Wyd Benny, OkCasheyy, Gittyman, STBtheDON, Mighty Casual, Riley Macc, Zajikc, TS Shaad, and ConorChillOut. I hired another longtime Duff Radio collaborator, Jace Camden, to engineer and produce the instrumentals for us. Jace created the instrumentals using FL Studio. As an audio engineer, this is my preferred software of choice as well. I hired Jace in part because of how impressed I was at his production for “Smoke With Me,” our sample-based track from the Duff Radio Mixtape Vol. 2. It’s one of my favorite songs ever. I wanted to see what he could do with the opportunity, and he did not disappoint. Every time we collaborate, I believe we push boundaries and have the freedom to experiment with our sound. It is unique to have 11 talented writers, producers, and engineers in one room. That is what my mission is all about - creating new experiences with people and making the world a better place through our music, art, writing, and media. We have been a top Kansas City underground radio collective for the past five years, amassing a following with listeners all over the globe. Recent analytics show Duff Radio has a strong following of several thousand listeners in Los Angeles, Houston, and Brooklyn. Of course, Kansas City is our nucleus, but we have also amassed thousands of listeners in Canada and the UK, making Duff Radio one of the most niche yet impactful and leveraged platforms in the entire Midwest. This is especially true given the Duff Radio Podcast, hosted by me, Ty McDuffey, has dozens of episodes, and the Duff Radio YouTube channel has over 400,000 lifetime views. The result of our session:

  1. Nun’ to Say” by Wyd Benny, OkCasheyy, Gittyman (who normally strictly produces but makes the exception to rap on Duff Radio projects), & STBthedon
  2. Feel My Pain” by Mighty Casual, Riley Macc, and Zajikc

Both tracks were produced, mixed, and engineered by Jace Camden. These tracks are now live on YouTube, Soundcloud, Spotify, Apple Music, & more thanks to Duff Radio’s partnership with Distrokid for music distribution. A full studio vlog of our session is available on the Duff Radio YouTube channel, one of the earliest platforms to cover the underground Kansas City hip hop scene in the early 2020s. Using my knowledge of best AI prompting practices, I generated the cover art after extensive revision using Anthropic’s Claude for prompt writing and Gemini’s Nano Banana for image generation. The image of the dove ascending into a phoenix is meant to represent the growth and maturation of Duff Radio and its collaborators as artists and people, as well as the passage of time. The butterflies represent new life brought into the world this year by me and fellow Kansas City rapper STBtheDON. This part of the artwork was suggested by Kansas City rapper TS Shaad, who also has a writing credit on Feel My Pain. Highly niche info.
