Meet Ty McDuffey
Hello,
My name is Ty McDuffey. I am a 27-year-old writer, audio engineer, videographer, photographer, and athlete.
After graduating at an accelerated rate from the UMKC School of Law, I have spent the past 3 years writing and creating search-engine-optimized website content for marketing agencies, businesses, media outlets, and legal technology companies like LegalMatch and Thomson Reuters-FindLaw. I’ve now created a company called Elephant Rock Writing & Content Creation, LLC, which provides similar services while leveraging tools such as my professional-grade Black Magic cc 6k Pocket Camera, SEMRush for link building and competitive keyword research, and generative AI to increase the web presence of businesses and personal brands.
Before starting my own business, I jumped into journalism in 2021, accepting an offer from Yellowstone Communications to become the editor of the Big Horn County News in Hardin, Montana. When Yellowstone Communications was later sold to Adams Publishing Group in November 2022, I went on to serve in the same role for the Big Timber Pioneer, spending my time in the Crazy Mountains of central Montana.
During this time, my coverage area and readership included the vast 2.2 million acre Crow Indian Reservation. I covered stories about missing indigenous women, city council and tribal politics, & corruption in the Big Horn County courthouse. The SHOWTIME documentary “Murder in Big Horn,” which portrays tribal members and their communities within Big Horn County battling an epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW), was filmed and released during this time.
I later relocated to Billings in 2023 and took a position freelance writing for the Billings Gazette, the largest media outlet in the state of Montana.
These interesting experiences are subject to becoming the topics for my next books, given there is enough interest from my readers. As for now, I have used AI to write a book called “Going Inward: Explorations at the Nexus of Mind, Body, and Spirit.” The 178-page book is available to download for free here. I have also attached it at the bottom of this message.
The book discusses:
- The Subtle Energy of Chakras: The ancient energy centers that govern our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being; their historical origins, significance in cultural contexts, and link to our modern understanding of anatomy and physiology.
- Meditation and Mindfulness: The ancient art of meditation, its techniques across cultures, its profound impact on the mind, body, and soul, and its potential to transform the everyday experience, promote mental clarity, and foster a deeper connection to the universe.
- Carl Jung and the Archetypal Symbols: The subconscious through Jung’s lens and the archetypal symbols that live in our collective psyche.
- The CIA, Bob Monroe, and the Gateway Experience: The interests of governmental bodies in altered states of consciousness and their potential applications through Bob Monroe’s pioneering work and the Gateway Experience.
- The Cave of the Brahman: Hindu neuroscience and cosmology; its implications on self-awareness and the nature of reality.
- The Pineal Gland: The mysterious organ’s history, from its revered status in spiritual traditions as the “third eye” to contemporary debates surrounding its potential to produce DMT during significant life events.
- Psychedelics: The biochemistry of the brain and psychedelics, understanding not just their capacity to alter perception but also their potential therapeutic applications and their role in neural connectivity.
- Holotropic Breathwork: A look at Dr. Stanislav Grof’s revolutionary technique, from its origins as an LSD alternative to its powerful applications in trauma healing, self-exploration, and spiritual growth.
Written with historical insights, scientific investigation, and spiritual reflections, this book aims to serve as a tool for those seeking to further their own consciousness. Whether you’re a spiritual seeker, a meditator, or are simply curious about the landscape of human consciousness, “Going Inward: Explorations at the Nexus of Mind, Body, and Spirit” offers a blend of ancient traditions and modern insights to enlighten your path.
